Healthcare Web Design
Pacem operates in the healthcare and scientific innovation space, focusing on cold plasma technology a complex and highly technical subject. The existing website struggled to communicate this technology clearly, making it difficult for users to understand the value, applications, and credibility of the product. The challenge was to redesign the website to make complex scientific information accessible, trustworthy, and visually engaging without oversimplifying or losing technical accuracy.

Task
During my time at Atölye15, I contributed to the UX and UI redesign to:
Translate complex scientific concepts into clear, user-friendly narratives
Define a content structure that supported different user types and knowledge levels
Balance usability, visual clarity, and scientific credibility
Deliver a consistent, development-ready design system aligned with the brand
Action
Understanding Goals & User Context
I worked closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives, target audiences, and the main challenges users faced when learning about cold plasma technology. These conversations helped clarify the key messages the website needed to convey and informed how information should be layered and prioritized.
Research & Benchmarking
I conducted benchmark research across healthcare, technology, and scientific innovation websites to analyze how complex technologies are communicated. I examined narrative structures, content hierarchies, and visual patterns that support comprehension and trust. Insights from this research guided how we simplified technical concepts while preserving accuracy.
UX Alignment & Iteration
Throughout the project, I participated in regular check-ins with the client to review UX decisions, validate content structures, and ensure scientific accuracy. This iterative collaboration allowed us to refine the experience continuously while staying aligned with Pacem’s vision and regulatory expectations.
Information Architecture & Wireframing
Based on research and stakeholder alignment, I created low-fidelity wireframes to define layout, hierarchy, and narrative flow. This phase focused on progressive disclosure, ensuring users could understand complex information step by step without feeling overwhelmed.
UI Design & Design System
Once the structure was validated, I designed a modern, clear interface that balanced scientific credibility with approachability. I built a development-friendly design system covering typography, color usage, spacing rules, and reusable components to ensure consistency across the website and support smooth handoff to development.
Why
I applied a calm and restrained visual language, using balanced typography, clear spacing, and supportive color choices to avoid visual overload while reinforcing credibility. The goal was to create an environment that feels professional and reassuring, rather than clinical or intimidating.
Result
The final outcome was a redesigned healthcare website that:
Communicated cold plasma technology in a clearer, more accessible way
Strengthened trust through structured content and credible visual language
Delivered a cohesive, scalable UI supported by a reusable design system
Aligned business goals, scientific accuracy, and user understanding in a single experience
What I Learned
This project strengthened my ability to design for highly specialized domains where clarity, accuracy, and trust are critical. I learned how to break down complex scientific information into digestible narratives without diluting its meaning, using information hierarchy and progressive disclosure as core tools. Working closely with subject-matter experts reinforced the importance of collaboration and clear rationale when balancing usability with scientific and regulatory constraints.
